Academy of Higher Learning

This building has many young and old citizens of Chendl walking in and out constantly. The building itself looks like the blade of a great sword. It stands close to seven stories high. The outside has a very well manicured lawn as well as a large section dedicated to the academies own herb garden. Each herb is tagged and labeled and has its own spot in the garden. A variety of students can be seen here caring for and studying the garden.

Once inside the building you see a wide array of people. Ranging from well-known nobles children to local folks wanting to learn a bit more about their craft. There is a large study area to the left of you. Students spend many hours here preparing for classes. The student body is pressured constantly to maintain a high standard. Those that cannot take the pressure or who cannot make the grade are simply asked to leave. A large desk is directly in front of you with several women checking students in and out as well as answering any questions. Directly behind them is a set of large double doors that people rush in and out of.

The Academy selects 100 candidates as pupils each year for training within the school. This comprises training in every school of study. Each school is reknown as one of the highest academic sources in the West. Instructors include some of the highest level citizens from each character class. Education here is provided for free and is funded by the King, with a few nobles and businessman also contributing. Some of the class has one last test after graduation known as the Exhibition of Enlightenment. The contestants will compete against each other at the Field of Honor in events challenging their skills. The overall winner and top performers in each event are awarded wheatsheafs and items from sponsors including the King, nobles, merchants and members of academia.
